Objectives of the NJCP:
To provide a forum for examining public issues and proposals
to improve the efficency & accountability of government for the
benefit of the people; To take a leadership role in spearheading
citizen movements for the purpose of consolidating & downsizing
government, thus restraining the growth of government
spending & taxation; To participate in the New Jersey political
process in order to advance ideas & issues favored by the majority
of New Jersey Conservatives; To work for changes that
accomplish the following:
a)Limit the power of government & politicians while increasing
the freedom & influence of the individual citizen,
b)Reduce the influence of special interest money in formulating
public policy,
c)Make government more open & public information more
accessible to the public.

NJCP Decision-Making Process
Annual Issues & Candidates Convention
Platform positions are decided on by a majority of members.
10% of participating members may place proposals,
modifications, etc. on the table for open debate & decision by
the full convention. Every member is also eligible to nominate
& vote for any NJCP candidate, providing that their place of
residence entitles them to vote for that candidate in a General
Election.
STRATEGY
The NJCP encourages citizen-candidates to allow their good
names on the ballot to provide voters with an alternative. We
present issues & ideas directly to the voters to earn votes and
thus strengthen those ideas(ex. The NJCP has proposed that
computer access to the financial records of the School Districts
and all levels of NJ Government be provided in NJ libraries).
The NJCP's decision-making process of full participating
democracy empowers every member. This bottom-up process
is in total contrast with the Boss-controlled,top-down prodecure
of the Democrat & Republican organizations. Many decision
makers make special interest control unlikely!!!
