THE INTELLIGENCE OF THE AVERAGE VOTER by Stephen G. Spinosa, NJCP State Chairman

     You may be shocked to read this, but in a way, I believe that Richard Nixon was our most honest President. Why do I say that? Because Theodore H. White, author of The Making Of The President series once quoted Nixon as saying "It's tough out there campaigning, going down the line shaking all those hands while thinking the whole time that you just want to kick them in the shins". Having been in politics actively for 17 years I've come to understand Nixon's frustration with the American electorate. In some ways they are the dumbest, most uninformed, and apathetic group I've ever encountered. A good example is Karl A. Rowe, my closest friend dating back to when we were in Middle school together. Karl is one of the hardest-working guys I know, doesn't have a lot of money, his wife Dawn is a loyal Republican, yet last year they both voted for Barack Obama for President. Why?, I asked them. Karl said "Because he's new & fresh,and might actually get things done, whereas McCain is part of the reason things are so bad", Karl said. Well at least he's not a pure idealogue like my ex-friend Barry A. Brantner, who's purely been brainwashed by the liberal-socialist Democrats. But that's another story....
