New Jersey Conservative Party/By-laws Summary

Article 1-Name

That the name of this organization is the New Jersey Conservative Party, a.k.a the NJCP. That our governing body is the State Organizing Committee, a.k.a. the SOC or "The Leadership Team"

Article 2-Purpose

Article 3-Party Structure

That the NJCP is a political party organized for political action in the State of NJ; That the emblem of the NJCP is a Liberty Bell,displaying the acronym "NJCP"; That there shall be at State Organizing Committee, who shall have a Chairman & a Secretary/Treasurer that serve at the pleasure of the majority(50% + 1); That the SOC shall continue in effect until the NJCP is recognized as a political party in accordance with the laws of New Jersey. At that time the By-laws will be amended to conform to any applicable laws.

Articles 4 & 5-The State Organizing Committee/Meetings

That the SOC is the governing body of the NJCP,with the legislative & judicial power vested within itself; That the SOC can designate coordinators by Region,County,Legislative District(Federal & State), & Municipality who can become full members of the SOC with the approval of the majority; That the SOC can also charter NJCP clubs to be organized within Counties, Legislative Districts & Municipalities(which can also be considered "official chapters" of the NJCP),provided that everyone involved is registered with the SOC as a member of the NJCP; That the SOC can create standing committees as necessary to deal with State Affairs,National Affairs,Finances,Political Action,Membership/Credentials,& Grievances, as well as other commitees needed by the NJCP; That the Chairman and/or The Secretary can call for meetings of the SOC,and that at least 5 days notice be given to all members(either written or by email);that 1/5th of all members present is considered a quorom;and that a General Agenda be written up & followed at all meetings.

Article 6 -Rules Of Prodecure

That all SOC Meetings,Issues & Candidates Conventions follow the parlimentary prodecure outlined in Roberts Rules Of Order.

Article 10-Amendment of By-laws

That these By-laws can by amended changed or repealed at any SOC meeting by a 2/3rds vote where a quorum of members are present; And that these amendments are considered temporary until they are ratified by a majority vote at a Statewide Issues & Candidates Convention.
